IWD's core principles are echoed throughout Marcella's four pillars: democratized design, ethical production, sustainability and social impact. From the beginning, we at Marcella saw a need for designer minimalist fashion that fits into a woman’s day-to-day life - high quality fabrics and
trims, affordable, and most of all, comfortable. Our pillar of democratized design makes the shopping experience more accessibly priced and enables her to more easily feel confident and comfortable. After the initial design phase, our garments are then handmade by our incredibly talented workforce that is predominantly female. Our ethical production model ensures that our employees enjoy a truly living wage, free healthcare, paid maternity leave, a 40-hour work week, 20 days paid vacation annually, among many other dramatically above average benefits for garment workers. 

In our long-standing efforts to keep our planet healthy and thriving for the next generation of female barrier-breakers, we are sustainability-minded through every stage of our production process via our
timeless aesthetic, eco-friendly materials, and our "just-in-time" small batch production model. And, every time Marcella is purchased, we contribute three school days to a girl in need through our partnership with global NGO, CAMFED. Our School Days Project is engineered to help girls have EVERYTHING they need to stay in school (from books, school fees, transportation, lunch, menstrual pads, etc.) – an essential way to help them grow up to have financial independence and self-determined futures. At every step, Marcella commits to bettering the lives of women and girls - in both the present and future.
